|Didn’t we all see this coming? Regardless of the legitimacy of the fragment, there was/is going to be lots of backlash. And some of it coming from the same people who really don’t like the Dead Sea Scrolls, and who want to dismiss every non-canonical Gospel as fantastic garbage. People who can’t handle inconsistancies within the accepted canon, nevermind the other stuff.Of course the fragment should be further examined. Of course the ink should be tested. But a wholesale dismissal without that doesn’t mean much.But wait, the Shroud of Turin is real, right?
